Hello Family & Friends! I’m leaving for the HOC sendoff to Kenya in about an hour and I want to thank all of you for your support, encouragement, and prayer.  I am truly, truly grateful and am humbled because I know that none of this would have been possible without the your support and without God’s providence.   Co-leading MESAHI this year has been a test of my faith and trust in the Lord since the very beginning, from recruiting our team members to even last night when there was a real chance that several of our members wouldn’t be able to go.  I believe that God has been refining me in this way to prepare me for what’s ahead.  As the youngest in my family, I always felt the protection of my watchful Dad, the care of my loving Mother, and the presence of my two sisters, guarding me side by side.  Going on this trip, my role is completely reversed.  I’ll be watching, caring, and guarding my team.  Please pray that I can model my family and keep our team safe.  Please pray for safety from malaria, spiritual attacks, physical harm, and from malicious strangers.   This year, it seems like we’ll be traveling to a nearby town more often to use their internet.  Therefore, I should be able to send out several e-mail updates and prayer requests.  For now, I leave you with these: 1. Safety (as mentioned above) 2. Unity. Pray that we’ll function as a complete body to demonstrate the unity that is founded in God. 3. Compassion.  Pray that even when we’re tired, compassion will drive us to continue and that our actions may be an overflow of our love for Christ and our love for His people. 4. Wisdom & Discernment.  Pray that we may be wary of their culture and that we may not offend them in any way.  Pray that we may have discerning spirits so that we’ll know when and what to pray for. 5. Justice & Grace.  Pray for justice in the corruption of Kenya and pray that we may demonstrate grace in a Christ-like manner.   I know that some of you have had the opportunity to meet our team so please pray for us by name: Hannah Chu, Victor Chun, Joyce Tsang, Peter Wang, Ed Chang, Andrew Kim.
